About Us

The Warsen Family started LFC&TC in April of 1993 when they purchased the old 1907 Craftsman style farmhouse with the surrounding acreage of open pasture and woodland.

Today, John Warsen and his wife Cathie Mehler manage and operate these guest accommodations while living in the old farmhouse. A dream come true!

John was born in Brooklyn, New York and for many years was a builder in Mill Valley, California before retiring to Lopez Island. Cathie is a native Washingtonian and retired with 28 years in Engineering with the U.S. Forest Service (Mt. Baker - Snoqualmie N.F.) and is a Zumba instructor. After 6 years of romancing they were married in the Main Camp Building in August of 2004.

Sue Klein, our dedicated Head Housekeeper, was born on Lopez and has been a part of the island for many years.  She is really knowledgeable on all things Lopezian.

Matt Cotton truly a “Master Builder”.  He builds, maintains and makes it all work and look good.

Our goal is the best experience possible for each of our guests.
