Cottage Check-in Building

Jacuzzi for Cottage 2-5 guests

Our cottages are decorated in a cozy clean style described as "Northwest Scandinavian". Each bright and colorful cottage is furnished with a plush queen-size bed, fireplace, bath, kitchen with microwave, coffee maker, sink and refrigerator, front porch and rear deck. A charcoal barbeque is conveniently located for cottage guests. A relaxing, private jacuzzi is nearby among the fragrant cedars (see Site Plan). A country continental breakfast in a basket is delivered to your door in the evening, so you won't be disturbed the following morning. Enjoy our new "Memory Foam Mattresses".

For the comfort of our guests we do not accept: children, pets (except for Cottage #4 and Campsites # 5  and 13), RV's or electronic music.

Due to so many guest requests we will now accept one dog in Cottage 4.  Your dog must be on a leash while on the property and stay off the bed and furniture.  If there is extra cleaning or damage incurred your credit card will be charged.

COTTAGE 1 for that extra special occasion. In addition to the above, Cottage 1 is larger and has been upgraded to a king size bed, and has its own jacuzzi, charcoal barbeque, hammock and separate parking and entrance. (see Site Plan).

Cottage Notes

  1. The Cottages are designed for 1 or 2 adult guests. We will bring in a separate 6" memory foam mattress for a third guest for $25 per night.
  2. The breakfast basket comes with biscotti, yogurt, fresh fruit, juice, Starbucks Coffee, tea and Seattle chocolates. We offer a gluten-free granola muffin option instead of the biscotti. Let us know on your reservation under "Additional Information" and we will make the substitution.
  3. The cottages do not have a cooking range. They do have a microwave, sink, refrigerator, dishes and utensils. Cottage 5 has a two-burner cooktop.
  4. Charcoal and ice are available one mile away at the Village Market.
  5. There is a two night minimum for Tour de Lopez (last weekend in April), Memorial Day, Labor Day and July 4th.
  6. Wi-Fi is available at our Cottages and most anywhere on our property. Connection info will be on your guest check-in sheet on the bulletin board in the guest check-in building.
  7. It is not necessary to bring personal drinking water. Our well water is Washington State approved and lab tested 5 times a year.
  8. Village Cycles provides free delivery and pick-up of your bicycle rental to Lopez Farm Cottages.  Contact Michael & Heidi at and have your bicycle waiting for you when you arrive.  They also offer bicycle drop off and/or pick-up at the ferry landing for a $5 fee each way.
  9. Check out Lopez Island Vineyards for wine tastings and Outer Island Excursions for whale watching trips.
  10. Ferry reservations are highly recommended. You can make ferry reservations from Anacortes to Lopez Island. For additional information and to make your ferry reservation go to:
In lieu of return reservations from Lopez to Anacortes, Lopez is allotted a fixed number of vehicles on each ferry.  Posted in our Check-in Buildings are the Lopez to Anacortes ferry times, vehicle allotments and Lopez Ferry Landing phone number (468-4095).  Guests can call ahead to confirm the time they need to arrive to get a car in line.

Cottage Terms

  1. Self Check-In: Guest check-in envelopes are posted in the white Cottage check-in building no later than 4 pm. Guest check–out is no later than 11 am. As soon as a cottage is clean and ready for occupancy the guest check-in envelope is posted. The average check-in time is 2 pm.
    WHY Self Check-in / Self Check-out?

When our first cottages opened in May of 1996 arriving guests would call us from the Check-in Building so we could personally greet and direct them to their cottage.

We found that most guests preferred immediate access to their cottage rather than wait for a personalized greeting. Thus our Self Check-In / Self Check-Out system came about. We both live on the property and greet as many guests each day as possible.

We welcome you and hope we do get the opportunity to see you during your stay with us.

  2. Guest Storage: Guests are welcome to leave their car in a parking area so they can bicycle or hike prior to actual check in. Guests arriving on bicycles can store their bags and packs in our small Guest Storage Shed behind the Service Building (see our Site Plan).
  3. Self Check-out time is no later than 11 am.
  4. Payment: At the time we confirm your reservation we charge your credit card for your entire stay.  We do not accept checks or cash.
  5. Cancellation Policy:
    1. If you cancel more than 14 days prior to your stay you will be reimbursed 90% of your payment.
    2. If you cancel any portion of your reservation within 14 days prior to your stay, you will be responsible for your full reservation.  If we are able to re-book your night(s) we will reimburse your credit card 90% of all charges re-booked.
  6. For cancellations or other inquiries it is best to email
  7. For the quiet and comfort of our guests: minimum age is 14 (with the exception of infants under 1 year in Cottage 1 only); no pets (except for Cottage #4 and Campsites # 5  and 13); no smoking.
  8. Quiet hours are from 10 pm to 7 am.
  9. We add the San Juan County sales tax + lodging tax of 10.1% to our listed rates.

  • Drive 2.6 miles straight ahead from ferry landing. Our entrance is on Fisherman Bay Road past the intersection of Military Road (see Map of Lopez). Sign and driveway on left.
